Behind the scenes of pleating

Les coulisses du plissage

It is in the heart of Paris, at the rue Greneta workshop that the journey of a pleated skirt (short, midi and long) begins. Each order placed we order the color from our suppliers in Italy, 100% polyester fabrics to guarantee pleats for life!

Each skirt is cut to your measurements: waist and length. Then head to our pleating workshops, still in Paris, craftsmen take care of each skirt. Each pleat has its own technique: flat pleats, accordions, sunbursts, we adapt them at will and on occasion :) For the skirts of the collections we work the flat pleat, using a machine, each piece of fabric passes between the "pinches" of a pleating machine, guided by the hands of the craftsman to guarantee a perfectly straight fall. For our sun pleated skirts, it's a 100% manual pleating, a real craft that consists of pleating pleats by pleats in a cardboard box your skirt in a circle..

All the skirts are then placed in an oven for a day, to mark the pleats for life! Then comes the moment of "unpacking", we release each skirt from the papers in which it was pleated, give a lining of the right color and head to the assembly workshop in the heart of Paris!

Sharing the process with you is also explaining to you that quality takes its time. Between the order and the transport of the materials, the cut, the pleating time, the heating time in the oven, then obviously the way to assemble your skirt, it takes us 4 weeks to bring it up to our quality standards :)
